The prestigious team tournament begins on September 26, with the US trying to win back the Cup for the first time since 2008.

Bradley has enjoyed a fairly consistent season on the PGA Tour, earning 13 top-25 finishes in 25 tournaments - including four top-five results without breaking through for a win.

Mahan has six top-10 finishes to his name, most notably winning the FedEx Cup play-off opener - The Barclays - which all but sealed his spot on the US team.

Simpson's season started brilliantly, with four top-seven finishes including a win at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open - but of late he has mixed brilliance with missed cuts, alternating tied for fifth and ninth finishes with weekend holidays.

Bradley also represented the US at the 2012 Ryder Cup, while Mahan was part of the winning '08 team before also competing when Europe regained it in '10.

Simpson joined Bradley in debuting at the event in '12.
