Adam Scott goes back to long putter for Masters

AdamScott - Cropped

After a week of practice rounds at Augusta National, Adam Scott decided to put the long putter back in his bag for the Masters, according to PGATour.com.

Scott, 34, used the long putter to win his first green jacket two years ago. He started this season with a conventional-length putter but struggled to find a comfort level.

Scott, of Australia, used his week of practice rounds at Augusta as an opportunity to decide which putter he'd use.

"Putting with a longer putter is maybe the smarter thing to do," Scott said. "I don't know. It's all about the lag putting. It's such a difference in weight of club and stroke and everything. I'm just trying to figure it all out."

A PGA Tour rule change banning long putters doesn't go into effect until 2016, but players made the switch this season to prepare.
