Tiger Woods shot a composed three-under-par 68 at the Deutsche Bank Championship Monday to remain in the US PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs.
Woods finished at 10 under for the tournament at the TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts, ensuring him a spot among the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup points list.
That means he has qualified for this week's BMW Championship in Chicago, where he is the defending champion.
After the round, a relieved Woods told NBC in a televised interview that the swing changes he's been working on with coach Sean Foley are starting to pay off.
"I feel good about what I've been working on," Woods said. "More than anything, it's how I've been able to fix it on the golf course. That's the biggest thing."
"I started feeling more comfortable. I'm able to fix it on the golf course. That's the biggest thing. When I hit a couple of bad shots I'm able to rectify it."
"Today I was trying to shoot about 62. I thought that would have been a pretty good number but I didn't do that."
