Wade Ormsby remains in contention for the Kings Cup, the Australian sitting just four strokes off the pace heading into the final day in Thailand.

On an intriguing day at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club, Orsmby stayed in contention for the title after a solid three-under 69 score in his third round on Saturday.

The score may not have been quite as spectacular as his nine-under 63 on Friday, but it was enough to take the 32-year-old South Australian into 13 under for the tournament, just four strokes adrift of Singaporean leader Mardan Mamat.

Mamat produced a six-under 66 on Saturday, his round comprising seven birdies and one bogey, and he finds himself one stroke ahead of local Thai favourite Thaworn Wiratchant on 16 under.

Wiratchant produced four consecutive birdies to finish his round in some style, signing off on a seven-under 65 score on Saturday to be at 16 under for the tournament, one stroke ahead of compatriot Pariya Junhasavasdikul (66).

But the news was not all so good for the local contingent as overnight leader Supakorn Utaipat dropped off the pace completely with a two-over 74.

Although Ormsby continued to fire, fellow Australians Darren Tan (73) and Unho Park (72) failed to make up any ground on the leaders and both find themselves at six under for the tournament and seemingly out of contention.

Andrew Dodt (72) is two strokes further back while fellow Aussies Kunal Bhasin (74) and Marcus Both (73) are at two over.
