Australian Jason Day leads at the Barclays Open in New Jersey after firing a second-round 67 on Friday.
Day's second successive round of four-under par sees him lead Kevin Streelman and Vaughn Taylor by one shot at the half-way point of the tournament.
Day's consistent strokeplay was one of the highlights of day two, as was Streelman's magnificent eight-under-par round of 63.
The 23-year-old was understandably delighted with his performance so far in New Jersey.
"I'm very happy with how I played," Day said.
"I drove the ball well, and I hit my second and third shots into the greens as well. I was just trying to hit the greens, get myself opportunities."
What makes Day's feats more impressive is the fact he had difficulty practicing prior to the tournament due to fatigue, with doctors investigating a possible case of infectious mononucleosis.
Taylor carded a one-under 71 as he lost his grip on the lead he shared with Tiger Woods after the first round.
Woods hit his most impressive round of the year on Thursday, but the 14-time major winner struggled in the second round and carded a two-over 73.
Woods was particularly troubled by his putter as he hit four bogeys in his final eight holes.
"I didn't have the speed at all on the greens. I was leaving it way short or blowing it by the hole. And it caught up with me," Woods said.
"I didn't hit it bad at all. I hit it really good. As I said, I didn't putt really well. I hit it as good as I did yesterday. If I don't make putts, I don't score."
The race between the European Ryder Cup wildcard hopefuls is intriguingly poised, with Padraig Harrington the best placed after he shot 68 to move to five under overall.
Paul Casey is a shot adrift of the Irishman, with Justin Rose and Luke Donald several strokes back.
