Champ or choker?

At the grand old age of 53, Greg Norman coughed up a final-day lead at the British Open at Royal Birkdale.

Here, we take a look back at the previous seven times the Australian has led with a round to play in majors.

1986 Masters, Augusta: Norman leads by one from Seve Ballesteros, Nick Price, Bernhard Langer and Donnie Hammond, loses by one to Jack Nicklaus and is second. Norman scores 70, Nicklaus 65.

1986 US Open, Shinnecock Hills: leads by one from Hal Sutton and Lee Trevino, loses by six and is 12th. Norman scores 75, Ray Floyd 66 to win.

1986 Open, Turnberry: leads by one from Tommy Nakajima, wins by five from Gordon J Brand. Norman scores 69 for first major win.

1986 US PGA, Inverness: leads by four from Bob Tway, loses by two and is second. Norman 76, Tway holes bunker shot on last for 70.

1993, US PGA, Inverness: leads by one from Paul Azinger, Vijay Singh, Tom Watson, Bob Estes and Lanny Wadkins, loses in play-off to Azinger. Norman scores 69, Azinger 68, then Norman misses four-foot putt.

1995 US Open, Shinnecock Hills: joint leader with Tom Lehman, loses by two to Corey Pavin and is second. Norman scores 73, Pavin 68.

1996 Masters, Augusta: leads by six from Nick Faldo, loses by five and is second. Norman scores 78, Faldo 67.
