The case relates to a banner featuring an apparently anti-semitic sentiment that was shown by a section of the club's fans during their 0-0 draw with Tottenham in their UEFA Europa League opener in Belgrade.
And a statement released by European football's governing body on Friday confirmed the case will be dealt with early next month.
"Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against FK Partizan for racist behaviour of their supporters (art. 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations), field invasions by supporters (art. 16 (2) (c) DR), setting off of fireworks (art. 16 (2) (c) DR) and use of laser pointer (art. 16 (2) (c) DR)," the UEFA statement read.
"The case will be dealt by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on October 3."
The Serbian outfit will feature in the competition the day before that hearing, away at Asteras Tripolis in Greece.
Partizan issued an apology on Friday, and the club insisted it would do everything in its power to find those responsible for the offences.
"FC Partizan resolutely disavows the anti-semitic banner displayed yesterday," a statement read. "The message displayed on that banner is completely opposite to preferences and opinions of almost all citizens of Serbia and Partizan fans.
"We fully condemn the perpetrators of this mindless act, not only of anti-semitic nature, but one that represents hatred of Partizan and Serbia as well. We believe this vicious action will not spoil our sporting friendship with Tottenham FC and football aficionados in Great Britain. In cooperation with competent authorities, Partizan FC will do everything to locate, trial and ban those perpetrators from sporting fields.
"We apologise to everyone who found themselves insulted and upset by this banner. Once again, we point out that such banner message is completely opposite to history and tradition of our club, and our fans aspirations."
