Olympique Marseille moved second in Ligue 1 after a 3-1 win away to Lille, while Lyon could only manage a 1-1 draw at promoted Arles.

A 26th minute goal from Yohan Cabaye gave Lille a 1-0 half-time lead against reigning champions Marseille at the Stade Lille-Metropole, but the first of two goals from Loic Remy restored parity in the 56th minute.

Former FC Porto captain Lucho Gonzalez put Marseille in front with a 71st minute strike, before Remy made sure of the win with his second goal nine minutes from time.

Marseille are now one point behind league-leaders Rennes.

Lyon's indifferent start to the season continued with a disappointing 1-1 draw away to bottom club AC Arles-Avignon.

Promoted after finishing third in Ligue 2 last season, Arles took the lead 36 minutes in through Ivorian Franck Dja Djedje and they remained ahead going into the break at the Stade Fernaud Fournier.

Jimmy Briand equalised just after half time, but Lyon were unable to find a winner, leaving Claude Puel's side in 14th on the league standings.

A flurry of first-half activity saw Paris Saint-Germain throw away the lead before going on to lose 3-2 at home to Auxerre.

Nene put the hosts ahead right from the kick-off at the Parc des Princes, but the lead lasted barely three minutes before Jean-Pascal Mignot levelled.

Roy Contout struck to give Auxerre the lead seven minutes later, before Julien Quercia made it 3-1 to complete a catastrophic first half for PSG.

Nene claimed his second from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, but Antoine Kombouare's side were unable to find an equaliser.

A useful away win sees Auxerre move three points clear of the drop zone, while PSG passed up the opportunity to go third.
