Parma game called off again

Parma appear to be on the brink after a second consecutive Serie A fixture was postponed on Friday.

The club have been beset by financial trouble this season, were deducted one point for failing to pay their players and had to postpone their game against Udinese last weekend because they could not afford to open their stadium.

Tardini captain Alessandro Lucarelli claimed earlier on Friday that the club's players had decided not to take to the field against Genoa on Sunday.

And Serie A has followed up with a statement, confirming the fixture in Genoa will not go ahead.

The Italian Footballers' Association (AIC) announced on Thursday that a decision has been made to start all this weekend's games 15 minutes late as a show of solidarity for the players at Parma.

The league have already moved to confirm what will happen in the event of Parma going to the wall - the club will be immediately relegated to Serie B and their remaining top-flight fixtures will count as 3-0 defeats.
