This is exactly what Barcelona star Neymar did this week when he flew Serbian stunner Soraja Vucelic to the capital of Catalonia this week.
The pair reportedly got friendly over the off-season when they were living it up on the Spanish party island and have been conversing via Skype, according to Serbian tabloid Turir.
However, they clearly weren't satisified with their long-distance relationship so the newly-appointed Brazilian captain took matters into his own hands.
The model, who became popular in the Balkans after participating in their Big Brother show, also uploaded a picture of herself wearing Neymar's Barca shirt in an aeroplane.
Neymar has been in prolific form so far this season, scoring nine goals in just eight appearances for the Blaugrana in La Liga alone.
