A first-half header from Morgan Amalfitano continued Marseille's perfect start to the Ligue 1 season as they defeated Evian 1-0.

Marseille won their sixth consecutive match to move four points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table as second-placed Lyon drew 1-1 away to Lille.

In a tight match in Marseille on Sunday, the home side had only one more shot than Evian and 52 percent possession against a team sitting just above the relegation zone.

But in the 33rd minute Mathieu Valbuena curled a free-kick to the near post and Almafitano drifted clear to head the ball past Evian goalkeeper Stephan Andersen and Marseille held on for the victory.

In Lille, the home side grabbed an early lead when Mathieu Debuchy got forward from right-back and crossed into the box to Ryan Mendes, who mishit his shot but Nolan Roux was at the back post to tap the ball home.

Lyon had 59 percent possession and eventually found an equaliser when Lisandro Lopez skipped past one Lille defender and then struck a goal from long range to earn a 1-1 draw.

In the other Ligue 1 match, four goals were scored in the second half as Ajaccio stole a 2-2 draw away to Bordeaux.

After a goalless first half, Bordeaux broke the deadlock through Henrique in the 54th minute but Ajaccio were level again 10 minutes later thanks to a goal from Ricardo Faty.

Yoan Gouffran's 78th-minute strike looked to have earned the home side a win but Ajaccio earned a late equaliser with Chakhir Belghazouani scoring in the first minute of injury time.
