Lippi plans coaching return

Former Italy boss Marcello Lippi wants to return to coaching and is eager to take charge of a national team before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Lippi, 63, guided Italy to glory at the 2006 World Cup, but was unable to repeat that feat at last year's tournament in South Africa as the Azzurri crashed out in the group stage.

"I had a lot of success. But the last World Cup was not a success. I took one year off, for a mental break. Now I want to start my work again," Lippi said at the Aspire4Sport conference.

"However, I don-t want to go back to a club. I want to go back to national team football to build a new national team and work at another World Cup, say in 2014."

"In the life of a coach, in fact in any kind of work, there are not only good moments but also bad moments. There are highs and lows."

Lippi enjoyed his most successful stint at Juventus and also coached Inter, Napoli and Atalanta.
