League Two Preview: Moore looks for fighting spirit, Accrington aim to bounce back

Moore was appointed as Hartlepool's manager earlier this week by the club's new owners –TMH 2014 Ltd – with former boss Paul Murray having being relieved of his post earlier this month.

Hartlepool, who welcome Oxford United on Saturday, prop up the Football League and suffered a humiliating FA Cup loss to non-League Blyth Spartans that spelled the end of Murray's tenure.

A 4-0 defeat to Burton Albion last Saturday piled further misery on the club, but Moore's appointment and the arrival of new owners has boosted spirits.

And Moore, who was dismissed by Tranmere Rovers back in April after admitting a breach of Football Association betting regulations, has warned his new charges that he will be looking to set high standards.

"I watched the Burton game and going towards half-time I thought it was fantastic because there was nothing in it, but then they went like a pack of cards," he told the club's official website, with his new charges six points from safety.

"How I restrained myself from going in that dressing room at the end I will never know. If we're going to stay in this league then we have to show fight, and it's been lacking."

Accrington Stanley will be looking to put the disappointment of missing out on a money-spinning FA Cup third-round tie with Manchester United behind them when they host Wycombe Wanderers.

John Coleman's side were edged out by League One outfit Yeovil Town in midweek, and have struggled for league consistency recently, while Wycombe sit top.

Second-placed Burton will look to move above Wycombe when they clash with promotion-hopefuls Southend United on Friday, while Cambridge United visit struggling Tranmere.

Shrewsbury Town have lost just once in the last two months and will be looking to maintain their good run by seeing off Morecambe, and Exeter City can extend their nine-match unbeaten streak as they travel to Stevenage.

Luton Town could move into the top three with a victory over sixth-placed Newport County, with Cheltenham Town and Bury looking to end poor runs of form as they host Portsmouth and York City respectively.

Elsewhere, Dagenham and Redbridge travel to Plymouth Argyle, Carlisle United face Northampton Town and AFC Wimbledon are at home against Mansfield Town.
