New Zealand striker Chris Killen has agreed to a two-year deal with Chinese Super League team Shenzhen Ruby, joining fellow Kiwi Ivan Vicelich at the club.

It is believed that Killen is the subject of a lucrative deal that would see him become the marquee player at Shenzhen.

The striker has been in China for a short time but has already been pictured at training on the club's official website.

He links up with team-mate Vicelich who is at Shenzhen on a four-month loan deal and was one of the stars of the All Whites' World Cup campaign.

Killen was available on a free transfer after a short-term deal at Championship side Middlesborough saw him net six goals in 17 appearances.

Killen, who lists Manchester City and Celtic as previous clubs, started all three games for the All Whites at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and is no stranger to playing in China after representing New Zealand as an over-age player at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Fellow All White Shane Smeltz recently reneged on a contract with Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng citing 'personal issues' for the reason in the transfer break down.
