Dixon, a former international, was captured punching and kicking victim Ben Scoble on CCTV footage in a Bedfordshire pub in the UK in May 2014.
Dixon, 53, denied assaulting Scoble despite the video evidence, with Judge Barbara Nebsah describing the attack as, “shocking and sickening to watch.”

“You were annoyed and clearing going to teach him a lesson.
“If ever there was a confrontation in a pub where violence did not need resorting to, this must have been it,” Judge Nebsah said.
Dixon was seen approaching Mr Scoble and punching him off a bar stool and continuing to hit and kick him as he lay on the floor.
Dixon, who played eight games for England, was sentenced to nine months prison for his part in the assault.
