Feyenoord continue to struggle

Feyenoord continued their disappointing start to the season slumping to a 3-0 loss to NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.

The Rotterdam club has now won just two of their opening seven matches and sit 10 points behind league leaders Ajax after the loss at De Goffertstadion.

Lasse Schone opened the scoring for the home side in the 19th minute, and late strikes from substitutes Rick ten Voorte and Bram Nuytinck consigned Feyenoord to their third straight loss.

VVV Venlo dragged themselves further from the bottom of the table with a 1-0 win over De Graafschap.

Ruud Boymans was the hero for the home side finding the net on 42 minutes, although it could have been better for Venlo had Patrick Paauwe not missed a first-half penalty attempt.

Willem II let a one-goal lead slip in their 2-1 loss to NAC Breda and remain pointless on the bottom of the table.

The Tilburg side have now lost seven games in a row to start the season after second-half goals from Kees Luijckx and Joonas Kolkka cancelled out Andreas Landgren's early strike.

Two goals in 12 minutes gave Vitesse Arnhem a 2-0 win on the road against Excelsior.

Slovenian Dalibor Stevanovic gave the visitors the lead five minutes after half-time, and Ismail Aissati doubled it 12 minutes later to seal Vitesse's second win of the season.
