Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson lamented a lapse in concentration from his defence after his team's 1-0 loss to Central Coast on Sunday.
Daniel McBreen's 70th-minute winner was all that separated the two teams at Bluetongue Stadium, handing Glory their first loss of the campaign.
But Ferguson rued a momentary lapse from his back four that allowed McBreen to get on the end of a long Trent Sainsbury pass to net the winner.
"There wasn't too much in the game I felt. Chances were going to be few and far between, players were feeling themselves out with each other," he said.
"The goal we lost to I was very disappointed in, the big high ball. Fair credit to McBreen he has taken a fantastic touch, he has brought it down, great composure and he puts the ball away.
"There wasn't too much in it. That's what I'm probably more disappointed with. We put that effort in and we came away with nothing."
Ferguson, whose team take on Melbourne Heart next week, said he felt content with proceedings up until the goal.
"It was just that one incident. I thought we were OK over the park up until then, I felt pretty comfortable," he said.
"That was disappointing that we didn't go and attack the ball. I think we were out of whack and I think one (Bas van den Brink) dropped really deep and the other three were in line (with each other)."
Ferguson revealed Dean Heffernan was nursing a cork but 'should be OK', while van den Brink suffered a calf injury.
