Eredivisie strugglers Willem II are still looking for their first win of the season after they were trounced 4-1 at home to VVV Venlo.

Heading into the match, Willem II had picked up a mere two points from their first 12 games, with VVV their nearest rival on six.

The first goal came in the 23rd minute when Willem II defender Arjan Swinkels handballed in the penalty box while trying to block an open goal.

Swinkels was sent off for the incident and the resultant penalty was tucked away by Ruud Boymans.

Boymans got his second just after half-time and four minutes later Balazs Toth sealed the result.

Diogo Viana added VVV's fourth with 15 minutes remaining and despite a late consolation to Marceo Rigters the visitors cruised to their third win of the season.

The win sends VVV ahead of Vitesse Arnhem and within three points of 13th placed Heracles.
