Marseille clinched a record third consecutive Coupe de la Ligue crown with a 1-0 win over Lyon after extra-time on Saturday.

Substitute striker Brandao scored the winner in the 105th minute at Stade de France, giving Didier Deschamps' team victory in a scrappy encounter.

Both teams were compact in the opening half, with the first real effort on goal coming when Morgan Amalfitano's header was turned on to the post by Hugo Lloris.

Lyon defender Dejan Lovren also missed a good chance in the first 45 minutes, putting his header over the bar.

While mistakes dominated the second half, both teams had their half-chances to win the encounter in regulation time.

But it was left to Marseille to make the decisive break in extra-time.

Brandao, introduced in the 98th minute, latched onto a Benoit Cheyrou pass, powering a shot through the legs of the helpless Lloris.

Andre Ayew went close to adding a second after the interval, but one goal proved enough to hand Marseille the trophy.
