Bordeaux's Ligue 1 woes continued on Monday after they were beaten 2-1 away to Nice at the Municipal du Ray.

Anthony Mounier was the provider of the first goal for Nice, setting up Eric Mouloungui in the box on 35 minutes, before the hosts doubled their advantage in the 90th minute through Habib Bamogo.

However, Bordeaux were able to get on the scoreboard in the final stages, as Anthony Modeste converted a penalty after Renato Civelli's handball inside his defensive area.

Nice held on to secure the win and move to fourth on the Ligue 1 table, while Bordeaux languish in the relegation zone after earning just four points from their opening five matches.

Elsewhere, Brest and Lorient played out a scoreless draw at Stade Francis Le Ble. Both sides now have five points from as many matches and sit in 14th and 13th place respectively on the league table.

An Adriano Pereira own goal was required to save a point for reigning champions Marseille in their home clash against AS Monaco at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday.

The visitors held the lead twice, initially going up after 15 minutes courtesy of Daniel George Niculae.

Mathieu Valbuena pulled one back for the hosts three minutes prior to the break, but Park Chu-Young regained the lead for Monaco in the 79th minute. Periera then knocked the ball into his own net on 81 minutes to gift Marseille a point.
