The unpredictable striker is set to return to his former club on loan from Liverpool for the remainder of the 2015-16 season after a disastrous campaign in his first year with The Reds.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old will be banned from sporting unusual haircuts or wearing extravagant clothing and will be punished for any controversial posts on social media.

Balotelli, who underwent a medical on Wednesday (AEST), will also be banned from smoking, visiting nightclubs and will have alcohol restrictions imposed on him.

The loan deal is yet to be signed off on but his return to Italy is reportedly a formality.

It remains to be seen whether Balotelli, who has been guilty of multiple indiscretions both on and off the field during his tumultuous career, can behave himself.

He served two three-match bans during his first stint at AC Milan, had an on-air spat with a TV reporter and was caught smoking on a train by a ticket officer.

Balotelli saved his worst for his stint with Manchester City, allegedly burning down his house after letting off firework and having a training ground fight with manager Roberto Mancini.
