Maty Ryan’s Club Brugge also had a winning end to their season in Belgium, with the Socceroo gloveman keeping a cleansheet in their 1-0 win over Kortrijk.
Brugge finished the Pro League in second spot, just two points behind champions AA Gent.
Mathew Leckie’s Ingolstadt had already wrapped up the title and ended their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Kaiserslautern, with the Aussie winger coming off the bench in the 35th minute
Ben Halloran was also a substitute for Fortuna Dusseldorf, playing the last 15 minutes in their 3-2 loss to FSV Frankfurt.
It was all square between two Aussies in the Chinese Super League as Adrian Leijer’s Chongqing Lifan drew 1-1 at Josh Mitchell’s Liaoning Whowin.
Leijer played the full 90 minutes and picked up a yellow card in a strong display, with Mitchell a late substitute for the home side.
It was a good outing for Socceroo midfielder James Holland, who played a full match in Austria Wien’s 2-0 win over Ried.
Dundee United’s Ryan McGowan also found himself in a midfield role, getting through 90 minutes in their 3-0 victory in the derby against Dundee.
