James Holland played a full game for Austria Wien in their 2-0 Austrian Bundesliga win away to Wiener Neustadt.

Mathew Leckie started and finished the game for FSV Frankfurt as they went down 3-0 at home to Sandhausen in Germany's 2. Bundesliga. Ben Halloran enjoyed a better day out in the same competition, scoring the opening goal as Fortuna Dusseldorf defeated Aalen 3-1 at home.

Three of the Australians based in the Netherlands went head to head on Saturday and it was Tommy Oar and Adam Sarota who claimed the bragging rights, as their Utrecht team won 2-1 at home to Heracles.

Jason Davidson supplied an assist for the visitors' goal, but was unable to prevent them going home empty-handed, and they finished the match with 10 men after Davidson's fellow defender Bart Schenkeveld was shown a second yellow card.

In Switzerland Dario Vidosic played a full game as his Sion side went down 1-0 at home to league leaders Basel.

In the Chinese Super League, Ryan McGowan completed 90 minutes and helped Shandong Luneng to keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 home victory over Hangzhou. Daniel McBreen also played a full game for Shanghai SIPG in their 1-0 win over Changchun Yatai.

Jonas Salley started and finished Guizhou Renhe's 2-1 loss at home to Beijin Guoan. Adam Hughes was unable to prevent his promoted club Harbin Yiteng from going down 1-0 away to Shanghai Shenxin. Billy Celeski came on for the final 10 minutes of Liaoning Whowin's 1-1 draw at Jiangsu Sainty.

In the K-League Aleksandar Jovanovic and Jeju United were on the wrong end of a 3-0 loss away to Pohang Steelers. Alex Wilkinson fared better, playing 90 minutes and helping Jeonbuk Motors to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 home win over Ulsan. Robbie Cornthwaite came on for the last seven minutes of Jeonnam's 2-1 victory at home to Busan.

In the J-League Josh Kennedy failed to hit the back of the net and was unable to prevent Nagoya Grampus from giving up the lead to lose 2-1 at home to Urawa Reds.

Mark Bresciano lasted until the 64th minute of Al Gharafa's 2-1 loss away to Al Wakrah in the Qatar Stars League.

Brett Holman lasted until the 89th minute of Al Nasr's 2-1 win at home to Al Shabab in the United Arab Emirates. Alex Brosque started and was subbed off just past the hour mark in Al Ain's 5-0 win over Al Shaab.
