Brisbane Roar's Costa Rican signing Jean Carlo Solorzano has arrived in Australia, and labelled his upcoming A-League season a 'dream opportunity'.
The 22-year-old was introduced to his new team-mates at Ballymore Stadium on Friday morning, but did not run around on the track with them.
Solorzano said he will give his all to benefit the Roar, whether its scoring goals or setting up, he is all about the team.
"I will work hard for Brisbane Roar and I am confident the supporters will embrace that and have positive feelings towards me," he said, through his manager, who translated into English.
"When you play with your heart, work hard and try your best the supporters will embrace and recognise that."
"The most important thing for me is always the team."
"If things are going well for the team and I’m lucky enough to be scoring goals that will be perfect."
"But if the team is going well, it doesn’t matter if I’m scoring the goals or other people are scoring the goals."
While Solorzano does not speak English, he said it will not be a barrier to how he fits in to the side.
"Football is one language wherever you are in the world," he said.
"When you are on the field, everyone adapts to each other and plays for the best of the team."
In the recent Costa Rica domestic season, Solorzano scored eight goals from 16 appearances, and he has also been called to the national squad on three occasions for no caps.
In other Roar news, the side will call Suncorp Stadium home for at least the next five years after the stadium and club management agreed to a deal earlier on Friday.
Roar CEO Peter McLennan was rapt his side had a foundation at such a venue.
