Ronaldinho injury scare

Ronaldinho injury scare

07/29/2010 07:20:43 PM

AC Milan star Ronaldinho could miss the start of the Serie A season after suffering a suspected quad strain in training.

The midfield ace hobbled off during a session on Wednesday evening after complaining of a twinge in his quadricep.

The news means he is unlikely to travel with the team to England for this weekend's Emirates Cup friendly tournament held at Wembley Stadium.

Ronaldinho is expected to have a scan on Thursday afternoon to help determine the extent of the problem.

Milan's official website confirmed the player will be the subject to a series of medical tests.

It has been suggested that the problem could force the Brazilian out of action for up to month, meaning he would miss Milan's Serie A season-opener against Lecce on the weekend of August 28/29.

During the off-season, Ronaldinho has been linked with moves to Flamengo in his home country Brazil and also MLS side the LA Galaxy.

It is rumoured that former team-mate David Beckham has tried to convince the star to join him at the Galaxy but Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has been insistent that the Rossoneri would not sell the talented playmaker.
