Robinho eyes Santos stay

Robinho eyes Santos stay

07/30/2010 11:58:15 PM

Manchester City's record signing Robinho hopes to extend his stay with Santos.

The World Cup star has been on loan at the club where he began his career since January but is due back at Eastlands next month.

Robinho played in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil final on Wednesday and will in theory be back in England after playing next week's second leg and an international friendly on August 10.

But the player is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: "This is my home. I hope I can stay, but it depends on Manchester City."

"I hope this is not my last game here but, for now, what I have been told is that they [the negotiations] are on a standstill and that I have to go back to Manchester."
