Nurnberg upsets Leverkusen

Nurnberg ended Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten Bundesliga record this season but was made to sweat for the 3-2 victory at the Franken Stadion.

Two goals in as many first-half minutes from Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting and a Mickael Tavares strike 10 minutes into the second half put the Bavarians well on course for all three points.

Stefan Kiessling (66) and Patrick Helmes (73) reduced the arrears but Nurnberg held on for the win which takes them out of the bottom three and allowed Bayern Munich to hold on to top spot.

Mainz moved up to ninth in the table with a 1-0 win at Hoffenheim. A goal from Aristide Bance 21 minutes from time proved decisive, helping Mainz to leapfrog their opponents.
