Djulbic earns Socceroos call-up

Guizhou Renhe defender Dino Djulbic has been rewarded for his fine form in China and named in the provisional Australia squad for December's East Asian Cup qualifiers.

The former Perth Glory and Gold Coast United man could be set for a Socceroos debut at the age of 29 after an impressive season.

Djulbic, who was born in Bosnia-Hercegovina and grew up in Germany, helped his side finish fourth in the Chinese Super League, earning a spot in the competition's All-Star team.

Sydney FC young gun Terry Antonis and Newcastle Jets attacker Adam Taggart also received their first call-ups for the semi-final stage to be played in Hong Kong.

Joining them are Ivan Franjic, Ben Halloran and Matt Smith (Brisbane Roar), Rostyn Griffiths (Guangzhou R&F), Aaron Mooy (Western Sydney Wanderers) and Osama Malik (Adelaide United).

Following their solid showings in the international friendly win over South Korea earlier this month, Aziz Behich, Eli Babalj, Tom Rogic, Michael Thwaite and goalscoring hero Robert Cornthwaite are also included.

Adelaide United veteran Eugene Galekovic will compete with Central Coast Mariners shot-stopper Mathew Ryan for the No.1 goalkeeping spot.

Dario Vidosic could don the Socceroos shirt for the first time since June 2011, while Richard Garcia could make his first Australia appearance in over two years.

Brett Emerton will add some experience to the squad, which also includes Scott Jamieson and Michael Marrone.

Regulars Archie Thompson, Mark Milligan, Matt McKay and Luke Wilkshire have been named.

The squad will assemble in Sydney from November 26, with the final squad named three days later.

Socceroos: Terry Antonis (Sydney FC), Eli Babalj (Crvena Zvezda), Aziz Behich (Melbourne Heart), Robert Cornthwaite (Chunnam Dragons), Dino Djulbic (Guizhou Renhe), Ivan Franjic (Brisbane Roar), Brett Emerton (Sydney FC), Eugene Galekovic (Adelaide United), Richard Garcia (Melbourne Heart), Rostyn Griffiths (Guangzhou R&F), Ben Halloran (Brisbane Roar), Scott Jamieson (Perth Glory), Osama Malik (Adelaide United), Michael Marrone (Melbourne Heart), Matt McKay (Busan l'Park), Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory), Aaron Mooy (Western Sydney Wanderers), Tom Rogic (Central Coast Mariners), Mathew Ryan (Central Coast Mariners), Matt Smith (Brisbane Roar), Adam Taggart (Newcastle Jets), Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory), Michael Thwaite (Perth Glory), Dario Vidosic (Adelaide United), Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow)
