Akoto back to face Heart

Akoto back to face Heart

09/02/2010 11:45:06 PM

North Queensland have confirmed that Togolese international Eric Akoto will return to the Fury line-up for Saturday's clash with Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park.

Akoto has served his one-match ban for his red card against Melbourne Victory two weeks ago and comes straight back into the squad. He takes Brett Studman's spot in the 15-man squad.

However, Chris Grossman, who was also sent off in that match, will not make his return as he has a slight quadricep tear. He is expected to miss just one match.

Fury skipper Ufuk Talay expects a tough challenge from Heart despite the fact the Hyundai A-League new boys are yet to register a win.

"I've been playing in the A-League since it first started and without doubt, this is the most even season to-date. Although only early days, all teams have the ability to beat each other on any given day and this is reflected in the compact table," Talay said.

"The quality of players and coaches in the A-League has continually improved, which I believe has led to a more attractive brand of football being played by all teams."

"Melbourne Heart have one of the most experienced line-ups in the League but we are confident in our ability and in our plans, so if we execute these as best we can, then I see no reason why we can't get a result."
