All Blacks power swamps England

All Blacks power swamps England

14/06/2008 8:15 PM

five-eighths Ma'a Nonu charged into England first five-eighths Charlie Hodgson, bumped him off, ran into space and fed fullback Mils Muliaina in for the try.

Then four minutes later a midfield exchange of advantages saw the ball emerge for the All Blacks and it was wing Sitiveni Sivivatu who was in for the fourth try.

Eight minutes from the end Ojo scored his second when running onto a kick from replacement halfback Danny Care.

England started determinedly with some low slung driving play that looked to bring reward. No.8 Luke Narraway impressed with a non-stop and combative display but lacked the expected support from his fellow loose forwards.

However, it secured only two penalty goals to Barkley. It did have one chance from a high kick by fullback Mike Brown that was mis-fielded by Hore. But it couldn't score on the left flank where left wing David Strettle was pushed into touch in the corner by flying cover defender No.8 Jerome Kaino.

Eden Park was sold out for the game and the expected showers had not arrived before kick-off.
