The Kookaburras continue to take winning form into the upcoming Beijing Olympics with a 4-1 victory over Korea in game one of a three Test series in Cairns on Saturday.
Australia dominated the match from the outset, with the majority of the first half being played in Korea's defensive half.
Grant Schubert opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after good lead up work from Eli Matheson and Jamie Dwyer.
Three minutes later the Kookaburras doubled its advantage with a Des Abbott goal.
Korea found themselves back in the contest after a lapse of concentration in the Australian defence allowed Kor Hyun to score second before the half time interval.
Kiel Brown restored Australia's two-goal advantage in the 52nd minute with a thunderous drive from a penalty corner.
When Schubert scored his second goal of the match only minutes later the result was put beyond doubt.
Dwyer was pleased with the team's ability to apply constant pressure throughout the match.
"We really set the tempo in the opening 15 minutes however we didn't take our chances and make the most of our opportunities," he said.
"However we continued to apply pressure and in the end it paid off as our relentlessness in the forward half was impressive."
The second match will be played on Monday, with the final match two days later.
