A penalty-corner goal from Luke Doerner after the final whistle has given the Kookaburras a last-gasp 4-3 win over Korea in Cairns on Monday.
Doerner's goal capped off a remarkable comeback by the Australians, who had trailed 3-0 after the opening 16 minutes of the game.
Jong Hyun Jang scored in the 10th, 12th and 16th minutes from penalty corners.
A field goal from youngster Des Abbott in the 19th minute and Eli Matheson 13 minutes later reduced the deficit to a goal but the match could have been over by half-time if not for three consecutive saves from goalkeeper Stephen Mowlam prior to the break.
Jamie Dwyer salvaged an equaliser with only two minutes remaining but a penalty corner with only seconds remaining set up a dramatic finish.
A first attempt was saved by the Koreans only for Doerner to make the most of his second chance.
The third and final match of the series, in which Australian holds an unassailable 2-0 lead, will be played on Wednesday.
