Tander claims pole

Toll Holden Racing Team driver Garth Tander has taken out pole position for Sunday's Bathurst 1000 race at Mount Panorama.
Tander's lap of two minutes 7.2963 seconds was enough to deny Ford Performance Racing driver Mark Winterbottom who finished second fastest with a time of 2:07.4206.
Winterbottom's fellow Ford driver James Courtney (2:07.7025) took his Jeld-Wen Motorsport car around the circuit in the third-fastest time.
Paul Dumbrell (2:07.8022) of the Autobarn Racing Team clocked the fourth fastest time while Team Vodafone's Jamie Whincup rounded out the top five with a time of 2:07.9513.
Sprint Gas Racing driver Jason Richards (2:07.9876) had the sixth-fastest time.
Will Davison (2:08.2511), Russell Ingall (2:08.7800), Fabian Coulthard (2:08.8051) and Max Wilson (2:09.1940) completed the top 10.
