Storm to contest Slater charge

Melbourne star Billy Slater will front the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night after electing to contest the grading of the contrary conduct charge slapped on him in the aftermath to Monday night's wild all-in brawl.
Slater was hit with a grade two charge following his involvement in the punch-up which erupted in the first half of the Storm's fiery encounter with St George Illawarra.
The Test No.1 entered the fray after the brawl had started and traded blows with Dragons winger Jason Nightingale.
If he succeeds in having the charge downgraded, Slater will miss just one match.
If his bid fails, he will be outed for a fortnight and be lumbered with 70 carry-over points.
The Dragons' Beau Scott, who was served a grade one contrary conduct charge for his part in the fight, pleaded guilty and will sit out one game.
