English official Ashley Klein will referee the Rugby League World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

Klein, who was selected for this year's Super League Grand Final, is one of three English representatives on the four-man team.

James Child has been named as a touch judge, while Steve Ganson has been confirmed as the video referee.

Australia's Steve Chiddy completes the team as the second touch judge.

"The policy throughout has been to appoint on the basis of merit in the first instance but to opt for neutral referees where there were two candidates of similar standing," said Michael Stone, chairman of the World Cup Referees Appointments Board.

"Ashley has been one of the form referees of a tournament that has brought together officials from a number of countries."
