Mutu inspires Fiorentina

Adrian Mutu underlined his importance to Fiorentina as he scored the opener in a 2-0 Champions League victory over Slavia Prague at the Artemio Franchi.
The Romania striker was continually linked with a move to Roma over the summer but ended up staying in Florence and needed just three minutes of the third-qualifying-round first leg to open his account for the season from the edge of the area.
The Viola extended the advantage after 57 minutes through Alberto Gilardino after he was set up by Mario Santana.
Fiorentina travel to Prague for the reverse leg on August 27.
