Sydney FC coach John Kosmina is expecting his old club Adelaide United to bounce back into some form for their clash at Hindmarsh stadium on Saturday night.

Kosmina is wary the Asian Champions League finalists are now free of their cup commitments and ready to concentrate fully on the A-League and a top four finish.

"They’ll be a lot more competitive," he said before flying out of Sydney today.

"Adelaide have had a week to get over their Asian Cup schedule and I think they’ll be better off."

While Adelaide has lost its past two A-League matches, the Sky Blues aren’t in terrific form themselves and have slipped to fourth in the table after an upset loss to Wellington Phoenix in their last start.

Kosmina is aware of his team’s faltering form and has been busy finetuning aspects of their game at training.

"Our form has been a bit patchy, it’s now about getting some consistency," he said.

"We’ve done a lot of football related stuff (at training) in the last couple of weeks and hopefully that will stand us in good stead for the game tomorrow night."

John Aloisi is set to make his much anticipated return to FC’s starting line-up and the marquee player is keen for a change in fortunes.

"As a player you always want to start games and play and play well but I’ve worked hard to get my spot back," he said.

"Hopefully I’ll keep it now and score a lot of goals by the end of the season."
