Barton admits to violent conduct

14/08/2008 10:56 AM

Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has admitted a charge of violent conduct relating to an incident involving the then Manchester City player's team-mate Ousmane Dabo.

The incident happened at City's Carrington training ground on May 1 2007, prior to Barton's 5.8-million-pound ($AU 12,461,901) move to St James' Park in June last year.

Barton has requested a personal hearing from the Football Association which will be scheduled before an FA regulatory commission in due course.
