Exciting paceman Shaun Tait will make his return to international cricket when he lines up for Australia A during its one-day series in India next month.
Tait took a break from cricket in January due to physical and mental exhaustion, but has recently impressed national selectors at a player camp in Brisbane and is one of four players to receive a call-up for the one-day series against New Zealand A and India A.
"It is very exciting that Shaun Tait is resuming his international career after a break from the game," Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel Chairman Andrew Hilditch said.
"He has been training extremely well at the recent player camp in Brisbane and is fully aware of the opportunity this one-day tour provides."
The South Australian said he was looking forward to his return.
"I have had a relaxed off-season, am feeling good and am enjoying rolling my arm over in the nets," Tait said.
"I am not expecting huge things but it is a great opportunity and it will feel good to be back on the field."
Victorian all-rounder Cameron White will join Tait in travelling to India for the one-day series, while Tasmanian pair Brett Geeves and Xavier Doherty also received call-ups.
Australia A captain Simon Katich will return back to Australia after the two three-day matches against India A, with White to take over from the New South Welshman as skipper for the one-day series.
Joining Katich in returning to Australia will be Bryce McGain, Jason Krejza and Beau Casson.
Hilditch said Cricket Australia's reason to name replacement players for the one-day series will allow national selectors to have a look at even more players prior to naming Australia's squad for the four-game Test series against India in October.
"The initial 14-man squad included three spinners to gain experience and provides the NSP with the opportunity to see how they perform under Indian conditions before a side is selected for the upcoming Australian tour," Hilditch said.
Australia A's first three-day match commences in Bangalore against India A on September 3, while the five-game one-day series kicks off on September 15.
