Tasmania is in a commanding position at stumps on a rain-affected day one in its Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Bellerive Oval having bowled out the Redbacks for 232.
Tim Macdonald was the chief destroyer for the Tigers taking career-best figures of 6-40 as he tore through SA's top order.
Play was abandoned at 5.45pm local time before Tasmania got the chance to begin its pursuit of first innings points and day two will commence at the earlier time of 10am.
Michael Klinger and Callum Ferguson both top scored for the Redbacks with knocks of 65 respectively while Brett Geeves (2-55) was the other multiple wicket-taker for the Tigers.
South Australia crumbled to lose its last seven wickets for just 83 runs after Klinger and Ferguson combined to save the innings from total disaster.
Sent in on a lively pitch, the Redbacks found themselves in deep trouble at 3-31 but a 118-run partnership between the former Victorian and Ferguson steadied the ship.
However, when MacDonald broke the partnership with the wicket of Ferguson the Redbacks never recovered.
MacDonald struck again four overs later with the crucial wicket of Klinger leaving the Redbacks in a spot of bother on 5-154.
The former Warrior's relentless pursuit of victims didn't stop there as he had Aaron O'Brien (41) caught by Tim Paine and Allan Wise (zero) trapped in front.
Geeves provided the initial breakthrough with the wicket of Tom Plant (three) in the fifth over with the score at 10, before MacDonald sent Daniel Harris (12) and Pakistan import Younis Khan (four) back to the pavilion as South Australia struggled to put bat on ball.
