Rogers' double delight

Chris Rogers continues to rewrite the record books for his county side Derbyshire, after making 248 not out against Warwickshire over the weekend.
Rogers seemingly had the highest-ever score by a Derbyshire batsman at his mercy when he resumed at 232 on the final day, needing 274 to break the old mark, but he ran out of partners as three wickets fell in the first four overs of the days' play.
Rogers hit 34 fours and a six in a 335-ball captain's knock and become the first Derbyshire player to carry his bat through an innings since fellow Aussie Michael Di Venuto made 192no in 2002.
Victoria, which secured Rogers services ahead of this year's interstate season, must be rubbing its hands together in glee with Rogers in devastating form in county cricket this season.
During his knock, Rogers brought up 1000 runs for the season. He now has
1228 runs at an average of 59.47. He is the second-highest first class run scorer in English county cricket this season.
