Rain ends final ODI

Rain ends final ODI

13/11/2008 6:49 AM

The third and final one-day international between South Africa and Bangladesh was abandoned without a ball bowled in East London on Wednesday due to incessant rain.

The umpires took the decision an hour before the day-night clash was due to start with the conditions showing no signs of improving.

The Proteas were already 2-0 up in the three-match series after comprehensive victories in the opening two encounters and remain second in the ODI rankings.

Attention for the two nations now turns to the two-Test series, the first of which begins next Wednesday in Bloemfontein.
