Jean-Paul Duminy and Jacques Kallis produced a century stand to help propel South Africa to a convincing 159-run victory in the first one-day international against Kenya in Bloemfontein.
Duminy hit 90 and Kallis 71, while Mark Boucher chipped in with a quickfire 57 late in the innings as the Proteas made 336 for seven from their 50 overs.
Johan Botha then claimed four wickets while Duminy chipped in with three for 31 as Kenya was skittled out for just 177 in reply.
Chasing a daunting total, Seren Waters was the first to walk for 15 when he edged Monde Zondeki's delivery to Boucher behind the wicket.
Maurice Ouma (18) was then run out attempting a quick single but a battling 38 from Alex Obanda gave Kenya's total a much healthier look until he became Duminy's first victim trapped leg before.
Captain Steve Tikolo was also trapped lbw this time by Botha for 18, while Thomas Odoyo added just nine to the visitors' total before being caught and bowled by Duminy.
Botha also ended Jimmy Kamande's short time at the crease with a yorker which removed the batsman's middle stump for nine, but a stubborn 47-run partnership between Nehemiah Odhiambo and David Obuya was a cause of some frustration for the hosts.
It was Botha who eventually ended the stand trapping Odhiambo lbw and it signalled the beginning of the end for Kenya as Hiren Varaiya (four) and Peter Ongondo (one) quickly returned to the pavilion.
Obuya was the final wicket to fall for a brave 35 to give Duminy his third scalp of the innings, with Elijah Otieno the last man standing as Kenya fell way short of their target.
Earlier in the day, the Kenyans made an early breakthrough after the South Africans had won the toss and elected to bat first.
Ongondo struck to dismiss Hashim Amla in the third over, the batsman succeeding only in scooping a short delivery back to the bowler for seven.
Herschelle Gibbs and Kallis quickly established South Africa's dominance, though, putting on 59 for the second wicket before Ongondo snaffled his second caught and bowled chance to send Gibbs on his way for 44.
AB de Villiers (11) was next to go, falling victim to a delivery from Otieno which deflected off his thigh pad and on to the stumps to leave the hosts on 103 for three.
From there Kallis and new partner Duminy turned the screw until the 33-year-old got a thick edge to an attempted cut off Varaiya and Obanda took the catch.
Duminy's fine knock, which came off 88 balls and featured eight fours, was finally brought to an end by Odhiambo, who had also earlier dismissed Justin Ontong for 19.
Duminy looked to hit one over the top but only picked out Varaiya at long-off.
Boucher finished unbeaten on 57 after a rapid innings which came off just 30 balls and featured three maximums.
Odhiambo, who also dismissed Morkel for one, was the pick of the bowlers with figures of three for 59 from 10 overs.
