Rain postpones BMX semis

Rain postpones BMX semis

21/08/2008 1:32 PM

Australia's four BMX semi-finalists will have to wait 24 hours in a bid to ride for gold after heavy rain forced the postponement of the event on Thursday.

Kamikaze and Jared Graves both qualified for the semis in the men's event, while Nicole Callisto and Tanya Bailey are in the women's.

Graves will be among the medal contenders after dominating his quarter-final with wins in the first and third runs, and second place in run two.

The BMX riders are not the only ones affected, with all throwing events at the National Stadium also postponed due to the rain, although they may resume later on Thursday.
