Port Adelaide defender Tom Logan says there'll be no 'psychological barrier' to break through when the Power tackles the Kangaroos at the MCG on Saturday.
It will be Port's first game at the 'G' since Geelong destroyed them by 119 points in last season's Grand Final.
The team from Alberton is hoping that time heals all wounds.
Eleven months and one day will have passed since that horror afternoon while injuries and a focus on development means many of the players that will take to the field at the weekend weren't a part of the 2007 debacle.
Logan said the Power were 'pumped' to finish their season at the AFL's biggest stadium, despite their past outing there.
"I guess it feels like forever since we've played there last and we are just excited about going back there and playing again," he said.
"We won't be thinking about the last time we played there, we'll just be thinking about this week and how we are going to play North.
"I don't think there's any psychological barrier at all."
Port went close to beating North Melbourne back in Round 15 and have a matched up well against the Kangaroos in recent seasons. It's doubtful they'll have to deal with much of a home ground advantage either with games between the two sides not known for attracting big crowds.
But Logan said the team would be hopeful there'll be some atmosphere heading into their final clash of the season.
"I think the boys like playing in front of the big crowds and obviously the MCG is a very big ground and so if there are not many people there it's not going to look like many people," he said.
Logan's personal development has been one of the few highlights to come from the Power's poor season. The 23-year-old has been on the list for four years and is only now starting to play his best football.
Logan said he felt it was a crunch time in his career.
"During the pre-season I set myself for a big year and I knew if I was to go on in AFL, I had to have a big year so I worked really hard," he said.
But despite his hard work he didn't feel he had consolidated as a regular starter for the Power.
"I don't think so at the moment. There's still a long way to go, there's still areas I need to improve, probably all areas," he said.
