Lions v Eagles - snippets
TURNING POINT: West Coast was well and truly in the game when they kicked consecutive majors early in the second term. But Brisbane responded to the pressure by recording the next five goals to take a 35-point lead into the long break.
CLASSIC GRAB: Jamie Charman was beaten around the ground by Dean Cox but was a handy player thanks to his input in attack. Midway through the third quarter he outbodied Tim Houlihan to take a one-handed grab only 15 metres from goal.
STAR MAN: Bradd Dalziell was the surprise packet of the contest, collecting 32 disposals in his AFL debut. With Simon Black and Luke Power drawing taggers, Dalziell should enjoy some midfield freedom in the remaining games of 2008.
ABSOLUTE SHOCKER: Scott Harding should buy Jared Brennan a beer after spoiling a certain Brisbane major during the third quarter. A low kick by Brennan was heading towards goal before Harding instinctively put his hands up to mark the ball. The ball went through his fingers and registered a behind for the home side.
WHAT A GOAL! Daniel Bradshaw improved as the game progressed and his third goal, scored in the third quarter, was a beauty. After a strong lead and mark he converted from a tight angle about 45 metres from goal.
UNSUNG HERO: Dean Cox was a shining light for a disappointing West Coast Eagles. The hard-working ruckman collected 36 possessions, 11 marks and 27 hit-outs to ensure the visitors were given some chance in the midfield.
