Manly player ratings
Brett Stewart - 6.5 Solid throughout - showed his class early delivering the final pass under heavy pressure for his side's second try 12 but his mercurial one-handed flick-pass to Steve Bell at the death for the Manly's eighth and final try will be remembered for many years to come.

Michael Robertson - 8.5 Handled everything that Melbourne threw at him and made them pay with a hat-trick of tries at the other end. While his three-try haul will attract the headlines, his try-saving tackle on Steve turner midway through the first half would not have gone unnoticed by his team-mates.

Steve Bell - 6 A solid farewell performance for the former Queensland Origin centre who answered the call in defence and capped off the night with the a spectacular try late in the contest.

Steve Matai - 7.5 Set the tone early in defence and was a constant threat down the left side of the field throughout delivering the final pass for two of his side's tries. More than held his own against Israel Folau and chipped in with two conversions - one from the sideline.

David Williams - 7 He may have been overshadowed by his fellow winger but the man who made his NRL debut this season looked right at home on the big stage. Showed no fear in attack or defence and deserved his late try having saved at least two at the other end.

Jamie Lyon - 7 Provided welcome relief for Matt Orford with his much-improved kicking game and picked the right option in attack more often than not.

Matt Orford - 7 Came into his own in the second half - his pin-point cross-field kick for Michael Robertson's try six minutes after the restart sparked his side's six-try second-half blitz.

Brent Kite - 9 A worthy recipient of the Clive Churchill medal. His opening 30 minutes was near perfect as he completely dominated the Storm big men up the middle of the field. Capped off a dream night with a well-deserved try in the second half.

Matt Ballin - 7.5 Made the most of the platform set by his big men early in the contest and showed great awareness to score the opening try from dummy half.

Josh Perry - 6.5 Offered good support to Kite and kept working all night.

Anthony Watmough - 6 Did most of his best work in defence - a vast improvement on last year's grand-final effort although he was overshadowed by some of his team-mates in attack.

Glenn Hall - 5.5 Saved his best for last setting up the final try with a 30 metre run after busting some tired Storm defence.

Glenn Stewart - 8 Heavily involved throughout - delivered the final pass for David Williams' try but asked questions of the defence all match with his dangerous running and passing game.

Heath L'Estrange - 5.5 Played his part in the second-half and kept the side rolling with his assured work from dummy-half.

Mark Bryant - 5.5 Provided good go-forward from the bench and let the Storm forwards know he was on the field in defence.

Jason King - 6 Kept trucking forward all night and kept the side moving forward with Kite off the field.

Steve Menzies - 8 Made an immediate impact when he was inserted midway through

Brett White a 5? I think you're being a bit generous there champ, the Junee Diesels under 13's side wouldn't have feared him last night.
