Panyangara may be Zimbabwe’s most experienced seam bowler but getting on the wrong side of hard-line disciplinarian coach Steve Mangongo has cost him his place in the series and a $1000 USD fine.
Panyangara allegedly shared a compilation video of Johnson wreaking havoc against England last summer with his team-mates via through Whatsapp.
The video seemed to have been an attempt at gallows humour as it was apparently shared on Sunday night, on the eve of the first Tri-Series game where Australia defeated Zimbabwe by 198 runs.
But according to Cricinfo, Zimbabwe Cricket failed to see the humour, with the team’s disciplinary committee saying his actions were "disruptive in the build-up to the first ODI of the triangular series.”
