After a seven-wicket defeat confirmed a 3-0 series loss for Zimbabwe, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed concerns had been raised regarding the 29-year-old by match officials.

Utseya, who bowled six overs for 36 runs in Thursday's meeting without taking a wicket, must undergo examination of his action within 21 days.

Zimbabwe will still be able to call upon the bowler during their triangular series with Australia and South Africa.

An ICC statement read: "The match officials' reports cited concerns regarding Utseya's arm ball and fast delivery, and concluded that the bowler's action needed to be tested.

"Utseya's bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process related to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20s.

"He is required to undergo testing within 21 days, and, during this period, Utseya is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known."

Utseya has played four Tests, 156 ODIs and 29 international Twenty20s since making his debut against Sri Lanka in 2004, taking 157 wickets across all formats.
