The spin-king copped a massive social media backlash after repeatedly asking Australian players where, how much and for how long their boozy celebrations would last.
Warne asked Brad Haddin if he was “feeling thirsty,” before turning to Steve Smith and saying: “Are you going to have a bit of a drink tonight too, Smitty? Are you going to get thirsty as well?”
Warne’s line of questioning continued in interviews with paceman Josh Hazlewood and coach Darren Lehman as the twittersphere erupted.
